Pastors no doubt are men of God who serve as the intermediary between natural and supernatural. Gone are those days when Pastors were as poor as church rats, now they’ve found a way to make themselves powerful and wealthy, while still performing their function as middlemen between God and man. Let’s take a look at the top 10 richest pastors in Nigeria.

Bishop David Oyedepo - $150 Million

Topping this list is David Oyedepo, a Nigerian preacher, architect, Christian author, businessman, and the founder and General Overseer of Living Faith World Outreach, also known as Winners’ Chapel International. The church has many branches worldwide.

His Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State has one of the largest auditoriums in Nigeria with a seating capacity of 50,0000.

Oyedepo doubles as the richest pastor in Nigeria and Africa as a whole with an estimated net worth of $150 million (N54.5B).  He owns two universities; Landmark and Covenant University, and a secondary school; Faith Academy.

The Bishop owns homes in London and the United States and four private jets, which includes a Challenger 605 with registration N633WM and a helicopter with registration -5N-BQY. Oyedepo also owns a publishing house, Dominion Publishing House, where he publishes all his books.

Oyedepo is no doubt the wealthiest and one of the most powerful Pastor in Nigeria and one of the top 10 wealthy Pastors all over the world.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome - $50 Million

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome ranks second with an estimated net worth of  $50 million. He is the founder of Believers’ Loveworld Ministries, popularly known as Christ Embassy. His church has over 40,000 members, with several whom are successful business moguls and politicians.

Most of his teachings are aired on television and various Christian Channels, although he has been banned from performing miracles on tv. His Loveworld TV Network is the first Christian network to broadcast from Africa to the rest of the world on a 24-hour basis.

Pastor Chris personal car fleet includes Bentley GTC (N81m), Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon (N35m), Range Rover Sport (N18m) amongst others. He also owns two private jets which is believed to be worth N500 million each. The curled-hair preacher also have his own airline known as the Sky Power.

He also owns a newspaper, magazines, a local television station, satellite TV, hotels, extensive real estate and a record label called Believers’ Loveworld Music which signed gospel artist like Ada Jesus, Sinach and Frank Edwards.

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye - $39 Million

Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was born on March 2, 1942, in Ifeware, near Ife, in Osun State. He was born into a very humble background that he sometimes jokes that even poor people refer to his family as poor.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 1967. Redeemed Christian Church of God is one of the largest chucrch in Nigeria. In 2010, the church said they want RCCG to be within five minutes of walking distance. The net worth of Pastor Adeboye as rated by Forbes is $39million.

According to Forbes, the church generates at least two million dollars of tithe every year. RCCG has a private university known as Redeemers University. Pastor Adeboye also has four private jets he use to travel all around the world. Forbes estimated his jet worth to be about 30 million USD.

 

Prophet Temitope Babatunde Joshua - $25Million

Popularly called Pastor T.B. Joshua, he is a controversial clergyman, a philantrophist and the founder of Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN), which he founded in 1987. His congregation pulled crowds of over 15,000 of Sundays, with branches in the United Kingdom, Greece and Ghana. His net worth is estimated by Forbes to be $25 million.

Being a philantrophist, he has donated more than $20 million to Niger Delta militants over the last few years for the cause of education, rehabilitation programs and healthcares.

His controversies include the claim that he had powers to heal terminal diseases like cancer, HIV/AIDS and paralysis. This has pulled many miracle-craving worshippers into his congregation.

T.B. Joshua owns Emmanuel TV, a Christian television network available on both satellite and internet via the Streaming Faith broadcast portal.

He owns a fleet of luxurious cars which includes Range Rovers and Mercedes-Benz as well as a $60 million private jet.

 

Pastor Ayodele Oritsejafor - $15 Million

Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is the founder of the Word of Life Bible Church in Warri, Nigeria and a one time president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).  He is one of those pastors who owns a private jet. In 1972, he was converted through Benson Idahosa, the first Pentecostal archbishop in Nigeria.

Pastor Oritsejafor, a keynote speaker, has ministered in crusades with over 2,000,000 attendees. He has TV Programmes, Hour of Deliverance, which he use to bring the message of salvation to homes.

He owns a $3.5 million Bombardier Challenger 601 private jet, a fleet of luxurious cars including a limousine. He is believed to have a net worth of  $15 million.

 

Pastor Chris Okotie - $10 Million

Chris Okotie was a popular musician in the 80s before becoming a pastor when he found the light and embraced the bible. He is the founder of Household of God Church in the Ikeja area of Lagos, one of Nigeria’s most flamboyant congregations.

The church has a congregation of about 5,000 members with many famous musicians, movie actors and society people. He is an automobile lover, with a Mercedes s600, Hummer, Porsche, Range Rover limousine and the N80 million Rolls Royce Phantom he gifted himself for his 30th birthday among his fleet of cars.

He first ran for presidency in May 2003 under the banner of National Democratic Party (NDP), he lost to Obasanjo. He ran again in 2007 under the Justice Party, he also lost to Umaru Yar’Adua in the May 2007 elections.

Then in 2011, he ran under Fresh Party, a political party founded and funded by him, but lost to Goodluck Jonathan. He has not contested since then.

 

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo - $6 Million

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo is a senior pastor at the Kingsway International Christian Center. He is anything but poor, his celebrity lifestyle is enviable, but on most occasions a source of controversy. After, converting from Islam to Christianity at the age of 20, he rose to prominence at the Kingsway International Christian Center and enjoys a juicy pay package.

Pastor Gbenga Oso - $3.5 Million

Pastor Gbenga Oso is the founder of Laughter Foundation and is said to worth $3.5 million. He was one of the pastors of Gospel Faith Mission International before leaving to set up his own congregation.

He made his money from praying for women with problems conceiving while encouraging them to be supportive of the gospel ministry.

His foundation helps couple concieves and he is usually referred to as ‘Father of Million Babies’. He claims he has helped over 1 million couples conceive through his healing miracles.

It was later discovered that he paid couples N10,000 to come claim that he helped them conceives, this lured gullible couples into his church. It was also learnt that he also invited couples with babies to and use their images as miracle baby.

 

Pastor Mike Okonkwo - $3 Million

Bishop Mike Okonkwo was a former banker before he founded The Redeemed Evangelic Mission (TREM). Before he joined gospel ministry, the clergyman had worked under several employers. He worked at Nigerian Ports Authority in 1964 and switched to African Continental Bank for the next two years. He also served in the United Church of Christ up until 1980 before he founded TREM in 1981.

His main source of income comes from millions of naira of tithe his church generates every month. He once said he used threat of curses to force his church members to pay tithe.

He’s estimated to be worth $3 million.

 

Pastor Lazarus Muoka

Lazarus Muoka is the leader and founder of The Lord`s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement. Like many other clerics, Lazarus is also a renowned author of Christian books and journals.

He was born in Imo state, raised in a Catholic family, and has grown to become a great influence in Nigeria. He once said he had been having dreams since 1994 about God calling. Muoka performs "miracles" in his numerous nationwide crusades which have been described as “stage-managed” and “fake”. Despite all the accusations and evidence against him, he denies it all.

Chosen is among the most popular churches and that place Lazarus Muoka among the richest pastor in Nigeria.

Pastor Lazarus has made most of his wealth through proceeds from his large congregation. With his reputed abilities to perform miracles, Lazarus has amassed a mega large congregation.
