Top Transfer For 2021-22 Summer Across Europe

Top Transfer For 2021-22 Summer Across Europe

Here are top transfers from across Europe before the start of the campaign for the 2021-22 season in EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga.

1. Sergio Ramos (Spain) Real Madrid -- Paris Saint Germain (Free Transfer)

The veteran defender, Sergio Ramos has completed a move to PSG from Real Madrid bringing an end to his 16-year tenure in Spain capital club.

The signing is indeed a great transfer for PSG as they got a leader, defender and experienced player on free.

Ramos is known for his aggressive, aerial prowess in defence and offence, something Paris Saint Germain have been missing since the departure of Thiago Silva -- losing the Ligue 1 title.

The 35-year old though experienced will have to adapt to life in France -- as the possession mindset in Spain is different from France's football style.

2. Sergio Kun Aguero (Argentine) Manchester City -- Barcelona (Free Transfer)

The diminutive Argentine has adorned the No. 10 jersey at Etihad for over 10 years since moving from Spain (Atletico Madrid) to England.

After a trophy-laden season at City, Aguero returned to Spain to link up with fellow countryman, Lionel Messi.

The signing is a win for Barcelona -- who needs an urgent No. 9 after the sales of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez to Atleti and later came to haunt them as Rojiblancos claimed the La Liga title, a win for Aguero who is already deep in his twilight years and could hang his boot soon.

It is also another transfer Barca could do as their pursue is very low due to the economic impact of the COVID-19.

Aguero 33, who boasts of at least 20 goals return for City every year would try to bring some of his poacher's skills to Catalonia and see if he could return the La Liga crown to Barcelona.

3. Hakimi Achraf (Morrocco) Inter Milan -- Paris Saint-Germain (£60M)

The wing-back who came through the ranks at Real Madrid has been one of the most sought after full-backs in the world of football. After a successful season in Italy, Hakimi 22, has sealed a 5-year deal to Paris Saint-Germain to replace Florenzi who returned to Roma.

Achraf who got the limelight in 2016 when he played at right-back for Madrid in Carvajal and Nacho's absence due to injury and since has not taken his leg off the pedals.

He was loaned for a year to Borussia Dortmund when Carvajal returned, after the loan, he was signed by Inter Milan permanently.

Due to financial constraints, Milan needed to sell which led to the departure of Serie A winning coach, Antonio Conte who was not ready to lose his title-clinching team.

PSG paid £60M for his services and it was a good risk given the promise he holds at 22.

4. Eric Garcia (Spain) Manchester City -- Barcelona (Free Transfer)

Patience was all Barcelona needed to show to get back their youth graduate, Eric Garcia. Barcelona saw a £15.4m bid rejected on deadline day last October.

So they just had to wait for his contract expiration in 2021 and sign the 20-year-old with a contract to run until 2026 having a £400M buyout clause.

However, after expressing his desire to leave, Garcia made only 12 appearances in all competitions and started just three games this season for Guardiola's side who won a Premier League and Carabao Cup double.

He will add some depth to Barca's centre-backs alongside Clement Lenglet, Óscar Mingueza, Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti.

5. Memphis Depay (Netherlands) Olympique Lyonnais -- Barcelona

Depay's contribution for Lyon and Netherland in the Ligue 1 and later in the Euro 2020 would have been a reminder to both Barcelona and Ronald Koeman.

Since the departure of Neymar, Barcelona have not seen a winger who runs down the left flank in the opposition final third. The closest they have had is Jordi Alba (left-back) who runs down the left to provide assist.

The downside with Alba's runs is that it leaves the left side of the defence open, the efficiency of Alba though efficient given his number of assists -- Alba does not take on defenders, he simply uses his pace to outrun the defender to whip in a cross or a low ball.

Jordi Alba 32, would not need to do that anymore, with the arrival of Memphis Depay.

Another huge signing for Barcelona as they got him on a free transfer given their financial status.

6. Gini Wijnaldum (Netherlands) Liverpool -- PSG (Free Transfer)

The Netherland midfielder was almost signing for Barcelona until a last-minute bid from PSG saw him change his path to France.

He signed a 3-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer another great acquisition for Pochettino's side.

An experienced midfielder who guided Liverpool on their way to Champions League glory -- something that has been eluding the Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) backed club.

7. Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy) AC Milan -- Paris Saint-Germain

One of the finest goalkeepers at age 22, Donnarumma joined PSG on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with AC Milan.

His signing is one of the best transfers done in 2021 and could have topped the list if not that he is a goalkeeper and experience and fame puts Ramos ahead of him.

Donnarumma's worth could be in the millions if he continues on an impressive run of form in both club and international duties. He currently holds the goal for Italy and could win his first major trophy if the Azzurri win Euro 2020 when they face England on Sunday.

8. Hakan Çalhanoğlu (Turkey) AC Milan -- Inter Milan (Free Transfer)

The Turkish midfielder didn't have to change his apartment after completing a switch from AC Milan to Inter Milan. All he has to do is change his jersey and probably his Number. Transfers like this will never happen between some countries' local rivals like Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona this summer, especially for free.

Calhanoglu did not have a brilliant European Championship but the performance only masked what the attacking-minded midfielder could do.

It is also a bold, tactful step from Inter Milan with Christian Eriksen likely not to play or play at full speed again.

With the return of Champions League football to Inter Milan after finishing as league winner for the 2020-21 season, the 27-year-old will have enough on his plate as the new season begins.
