Tottenhm Hotspur reveal surgery, Euro 2024 heartbreak for Ud

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday morning  confirmed that Italy international of Nigerian descent Destiny Udogie has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing a surgery on his left quadriceps.

The injury setback means that Spurs will make do without the left back that turned down a chance to represent Nigeriain favour of the Azurri.

"We can confirm that Destiny Udogie has undergone surgery to his left quadriceps, having sustained an injury in training earlier this week. "The defender will continue his rehabilitation with our medical staff and is expected to rejoin the squad during pre-season. "We're all behind you, Destiny."

The defender is also unlikely to play for Italy at the Euro 2024 Championship in Germany this summer as he is only expected back to action during Tottenham Hotspurs' pre season tours mid July.

The Euro 2024 Championship holds June 14-July 14, 2024.

Udogie has scored five goals in 28 matches in the Premier League.

The north London side are fifth in the Premier League table behind Aston Villa by three points and albeit they have a game in hand over Unai Emery's Villians.
