Toyin Abraham Addresses Tribalism Allegation

Toyin Abraham

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has responded to allegations of tribalism levelled against her on Twitter.

This comes after comedian AY Makun took to the social media platform to speak against tribalistic comments made during the recent gubernatorial election in Lagos State.

In AY Makun’s tweet, he  expressed hope that talks about bigotry would end following the conclusion of the Lagos State elections.

The conversation then turned to accusations of tribalism, with Toyin Abraham defending herself against the allegations.

One of the trolls had accused Abraham of supporting a candidate who had made derogatory comments about the Igbos, to which the actress replied stating that she had only chosen her candidate and did not make any tribalistic comments.

Abraham further clarified that she is not even Yoruba but a full Edo woman and had never posted any tweets or quoted any tweets with such comments.

She also expressed gratitude to her fans for their support.

“I would have just ignored but I need to respond for posterity sake, pls there’s no where in my life I tweeted or said anything about Yoruba lokan cos I am not even Yoruba, I am full Edo babe and all I did was just choose my candidate (which I have no regret till this very minute)

“I was told not to sit on the office and I only told u asiwaju is my choice and I was posting him and using my hashtag #asiwajubaby #mychoice, pls for posterity sake I never posted any tweet or quoted any tweet that have such in it?

"Thanks a lot for loving me and I love you too,” she tweeted.
