The Ghost and the Tout is a comedy about a ghetto-bred lady (played by the talented Abraham) whose chance meeting with a ghost changes her life forever.
The film is fuses comedy with the metaphysical and was a box office success when it was released, earning N30 million within the first week. It remained the fifth highest-grossing movie in Nigeria until 2018.
Among the stars of the film were Toyin Abraham, Femi Adebayo, Sambasa Nzeribe, Chioma Akpotha, Lasisi Elenu, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Dele Odule, and Chiwetalu Agu.
Michael Akinrogunde will be taking over directing duties from Charles Uwabgai (who helmed the first film) and shared the news of the sequel on social media. His post was reposted by Abraham on Instagram.

Akinrogunde wrote, "Proud and excited to announce that I'm directing the sequel to the blockbuster #TheGhostAndTheToutToo.
"I have the rare opportunity to be working with the World Best @toyin_abraham on this world class film and I have learnt so much from her, her work ethic and her huge heart for people.
