Traffic Alert: See Roads To Be Closed During President Buhar

President Muhammadu Buhari

In consequence of President Muhammadu Buhari's anticipated visit to Lagos on Thursday, traffic disruptions and partial road closure are expected on major roads.

The President is expected to arrive in Lagos tomorrow, to commission projects in the state.

Accordingly, the Lagos State Traffic Management body (LASTMA), has issued a traffic alert to assist Lagosians to navigate traffic as they go about their businesses.

Ahmadu Bello Way, Adeola Odeku Intersection to Adetokunbo Ademola by Eko Hotels Roundabout will be temporarily closed to traffic while traffic will be diverted to Adeola Odeku and Akin Adesola to connect the desired destination.

Furthermore, Akin Adesola road linking Ahmadu Bello Way by IMB will be temporarily closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted to Oyin Jolayemi, Oko Awo and Sanusi Fafunwa to connect desired destinations.

In addition, traffic on routes leading from Ozumba Mbadiwe (Civic Centre) to  Adetokunbo Ademola and Eko Hotels  Roundabout will be temporarily diverted after Eko Hotels Roundabout to Ajose Adeogun, Sanusi Fafunwa or back to Civic Centre to connect with desired destinations.

It was also gathered that the adjoining streets/feeder roads leading to Ahmadu Bello Way from Adeola Odeku Intersection, as well as routes leading to Eko Hotels, from Adetokunbo Ademola Roundabout (Eko Hotels Roundabout), will be temporarily closed to traffic from early hours of Thursday, 9 December 2021.

All alternative routes shall however, be effectively managed by Security and Law Enforcement personnel to reduce unnecessary traffic.

Lagosian and businesses are therefore advised to include these mitigation strategies into their itineraries for smoother traffic flow and to watch security channels for additional updates.
