At least 23 people have died in Kenya, after a bus said to be transporting choir members to a wedding dived into a river on Saturday.
Commander Joseph Yakan, the Mwingi East Sub-County Police declared that the bus driver tried to get past a flooded bridge, but was swept into the river. He continued saying 18 people were rescued from the unfortunate incident, among whom are 4 children.
The rescued ones managed to escape before the bus was submerged into the waters totally. It remains unclear how many passengers boarded the bus but over 23 dead bodies have been recovered already.
The accident happened to the choir members of Mwingi Catholic Church, as they were traveling to the wedding ceremony of their male colleague.
