Tragic: 39-Year-Old Man Kills, Buries Daughter Secretly

A 39-year-old man identified as Jackson Mbabazi has been arrested by police in Kagadi, Uganda for allegedly killing his 8-year-old daughter and burying her secretly.

The suspect who is from Kinyasi, Nyamwezi Parish, Mabira Sub County, Kyenjojo district has however gone into hiding in Kagadi district since he allegedly committed the crime.

Reporting the circumstances surrounding the demise of the girl, Joseph Mugisa, the father-in-law to the suspect reported to men of the police command that the suspect had earlier said that as he was taking the child to the hospital, she died along the way and he decided to keep her body in the forest.

Speaking on the incident, Mbabazi denied the accusations claiming that the child died in the middle of the forest and after her death he decided to keep her body in the forest and go to look for help.

He led an investigation team from Kagadi Central Police Station to the forest where they recovered the body. Police have allowed the relatives of the deceased to bury the girl as investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Under preliminary investigation, some of Mbabazi confirmed that the said suspect has been living with his children since he divorced his wife three years ago.
