Sheffield United are hoping to sign Davies on loan, according to Goal.
The Anfield club rejected an initial approach from the Championship side this week, as they were unwilling to agree to a buy option in the deal.

But it is understood that they are willing to allow the Englishman to leave on a temporary basis this summer, with the player eager to play regular football this campaign.
In a piece of related news, Fabinho has penned a new five-year Liverpool deal.
The Brazilian, 27, joined Liverpool in 2018 and has proved a valuable utility player for the Reds, filling in at centre-back or right-back as well as his favoured midfield role.

And after helping Jurgen Klopp ease the injury crisis suffered in defence last term, he has been rewarded with a new deal that will run until 2026.
