Former Super Eagles of Nigeria captain, John Obi Mikel, has confirmed that Brazilian football club, Botafogo, have indicated their interest in signing him on a free transfer.
Allnews reports that the ex-Chelsea midfielder also confirmed that negotiation occurred with the two-time Brazilian champions, albeit, he is "still thinking about it".
Mikel, 32, quit Trabzonspor of Turkey last month over a disagreement with the club hierarchy regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Now, an offer from South America is on the table, the African football legend confirmed.

"Yes there has been interest (from Botafogo) and yes there has been negotiations," Mikel told ESPN.
"But I don't know yet. I am still thinking about it. Not sure yet."

Some reports claim 'The Big Fire' offered him a $2m 18-month deal.
