Troops Attack Terrorists Enclaves, Rescue Children, Others

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai comprising of Land and Air personnel alongside civilian JTF have attacked some terrorists' enclaves in Borno state.

Following the attack, the troops eliminated 14 members of the Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists. 

The terrorists were eliminated in different locations in the Gwoza Local Government Area of the state.

Briefing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major-General Bernard Onyeuko stated that the locations include Amdaga, Balazola, Ndakaine, Jango, Sabah, and Gobara of the council area.

During the operation, the troops also rescued 67 children and 33 women, making a total of 100 rescued persons.

Onyeuko further explained that the operation took place between May 19 and June 2 in the North-East region. 

Items recovered include a truck belonging to the Borno State Road Maintenance Agency which was stolen by the terrorists in February.

He added that the terrorists abandoned their homes and families due to the mighty firepower of the Nigerian troops. 

the Army spokesperson said, “Troops also rescued 100 family members of terrorists, who included 33 women. 

"Troops also neutralised 14 terrorists and arrested 15.

“Accordingly, all arrested, rescued family members of terrorists and recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.”
