Troops Rescue Plateau Monarch, Driver From Abductors

Troops of the Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State have rescued the kidnapped monarch of Pinau Village, Dadda’u Ahmad in Wase Local Government Area of the state.

This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the Operation Safe Haven, Ishaku Takwa. 

According to Takwa, the monarch has since been reunited with his family.

Recall that the monarch alongside his driver was abducted early Tuesday. 

One resident of the community, Ubale Pinau told Daily Nigerian that the troops rescued the victims when they heard of the abduction.

During the operation, three motorcycles and two guns where recovered. 

A vigilante in the community identified as Nazifi Abubakar said the rescue operation was carried out with their men. 

“I was with the soldiers during the rescue operation. 

"The traditional ruler has been brought back to the village by soldiers and other members of the neighborhood watch who trailed the kidnappers to the bush.

“Everyone is happy in the village now. There was an exchange of gunfire between the soldiers and the culprits before the victims were rescued."

He commended the troops while praying for more success on their side.
