Donald Trump has criticised the former president of the United States, George W. Bush, who called on Americans to be compassionate and stand in solidarity amid the coronavirus pandemic in a video.
Bush compared the outbreak of the novel coronavirus to the September 11, 2001 attack months after he took up residence in the White House.
He said, “Let us remember how small our differences are in the face of this shared threat,” said Bush. “In the final analysis we are not partisan combatants, we are human beings.”
He added that he was sure that the American “spirit of sacrifice” was ever present and that citizens should be compassionate amid the battle against the disease.

“Remember that empathy and simple kindness are essential, powerful tools of national recovery.”
In reponse to the video of the former president, Trump said, “Oh, by the way, I appreciate the message from former President Bush, but where was he during Impeachment calling for putting partisanship aside,” quoting a news anchor on Fox news.
He added, “He was nowhere to be found in speaking up against the greatest Hoax in American history!”
