Trump Doesn't Like To Lose, Never Admits Loss' - Obama

Former President of the United States Barack Obama said in an interview that Trump's reluctance to concede invigorates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to take office, stating that Trump "doesn't like to lose and never admits loss".

He accused Republicans of "humouring" Trump, adding that he is "troubled" by the fact that they have decided to go "along with this" because they "clearly know better".

Obama added that Trump's denial of his loss is a move in "delegitimising" both the incoming administration and democracy in general.

The former president expressed his views to Gayle King on CBS's Sunday Morning show.

He said,  “Look, Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States; Kamala Harris will be the next vice president.

“They appear to be motivated, in part, because the president doesn’t like to lose and never admits loss,” he said.

“I’m more troubled by the fact that other Republican officials who clearly know better are going along with this, are humouring him in this fashion.

“It is one more step in delegitimising not just the incoming Biden administration, but democracy generally. And that’s a dangerous path.

“It wasn’t personal. The truth is everything I said, I was just stating facts.”

“It is not my preference to be out there. I think we were in a circumstance in this election in which certain norms, certain institutional values that are so extraordinarily important, had been breached – that it was important for me, as somebody who had served in that office, to simply let people know, ‘This is not normal.’”
