US President, Donald Trump, has said that he would slap on tariffs for all duties imposed on the importation of lobsters from the US against the European Union and China.
Trump, during a meeting with the fisheries representatives in Maine, directed his administration's Trade Advisor, Peter Navarro, to create some tariffs on cars from the EU and unnamed products from China.
He says that this would only be reversed if the EU does not drop its tariffs "immediately."
He said, “If they don’t change, we’re going to put a tariff on their cars and they’ll change right away."
Trump described Brussels as “almost as bad over the years as China in terms of trade.”

Speaking to Navarro, he urged him to find “something they sell that’s very precious to them” that could be tariffed.
He said, “Pick a product, a corresponding-plus if they don’t drop the tariff for Maine lobster going into China.”
“It’s very simple. All you do is say, that’s OK, keep charging us: we’re going to charge you a corresponding.”
“Peter Navarro is going to be the lobster king now."
