Tunisian President, Kais Saied, on Tuesday, dismissed the interim head of the national radio, Chokri Cheniti from his post.
The Middle East Monitor reports that the dismissal comes five months after his appointment. Saved had appointed Cheniti as the temporary head of the national radio, Radio Tunisienne, in September.
Since the President took power, he has also sacked the prime minister, suspended parliament and assumed executive authority citing a national emergency.
Also, he announced last month that a referendum will be held on July 25, to consider constitutional reforms and elections would follow in December 2022.
Majority of the country's political parties slammed the move as a coup against the constitution.
It was stated that his actions have strengthened the powers of the presidency at the expense of the parliament and the government and that he aims to transform the country's government into a presidential system.
