Turkey Neutralizes Key PKK Operative In Northern Iraq Amid O

Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization has struck a significant blow against the PKK terrorist group by eliminating a high-ranking member, Kadri Encu, codenamed "Doğan," in the Gara region of northern Iraq.

Encu, responsible for facilitating routes, arms, and ammunition for terrorist groups, was targeted in an operation that reflects the nation's resolute stance against terrorism.

Encu's presence in Iraq's Gara region posed a significant threat, as he was instrumental in supplying terrorist outfits with the means to conduct attacks, particularly in areas affected by Turkey’s Operation Claw.

The term "neutralized" serves as the official designation used by Turkey to refer to terrorists who have been eliminated or captured during counterterrorism operations.

While some terrorists are captured alive, in international operations like these, it is common for most individuals to be recovered deceased.

Encu's trajectory within the PKK is notable. He functioned as the so-called Iraq-Syria officer, orchestrating cross-border activities.

Joining the group's rural ranks in 2006, he received training in the Zap region. Furthermore, he served as Duran Kalkan's bodyguard and held membership in the PKK's so-called executive council from 2015 to 2017.

His pivotal role continued as he assumed the position of Iraq-Syria courier officer in January 2018.
