Turkey Rescues 36 Migrants Pushed Back By Greece

The Turkish Coast Guard squads rescued 36 migrants pushed back by Greece.

It was reported on Wednesday by the Daily Sabah that the coast guard rescued four migrants and 24 others near Dikili. The migrants were pushed back by the Greek coast guard in a rubber boat.

Ihlas News Agency (IHA) reported that the two incidents took place on January 22 and 23 respectively.

On Monday, the coast guard saved six migrants who were also pushed back by Greece in Çanakkale province.

In a similar scenario last year, Greece pushed back around 889 boats carrying irregular migrants back into Turkish territorial waters, while 25,668 migrants were rescued by the Turkish Coast Guard Command.
