Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met in Doha on Sunday to explore economic cooperation opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations.

The meeting took place in anticipation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's upcoming trip to the Gulf states on July 17-19.

Yılmaz, accompanied by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, arrived in Doha to engage in productive discussions and lay the groundwork for enhanced collaboration.

During their meeting, Vice President Yılmaz and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed the relations between the two countries and explored potential avenues for economic cooperation.

Yılmaz highlighted the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Qatar and Turkey and the upcoming 9th High Strategic Committee meetings.

The previous eight meetings have resulted in the signing of 95 agreements, showcasing the commitment to deepening cooperation.

The discussions also focused on new projects, particularly in the defense industry and energy fields, with the aim of strengthening mutual interests and fostering closer ties.
