Turkish security forces on Friday carried out a series of coordinated operations in Istanbul, resulting in the arrest of at least seven individuals with suspected ties to the terrorist group Daesh.
The operations took place simultaneously at 12 different locations across the province, as authorities intensified their efforts to combat terrorism within the country.
While specific details regarding the arrests were not disclosed, these actions reflect Turkey's ongoing commitment to counteracting the influence and activities of Daesh and other extremist groups operating within its borders.
Since 2013, when Turkey declared Daesh a terrorist organization, the country has faced numerous attacks perpetrated by the group.
These attacks have resulted in the loss of hundreds of lives and left many others injured.
In response, Turkish authorities have been implementing stringent measures to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent further acts of violence.
This includes conducting targeted operations, freezing assets, and taking decisive actions to eliminate the roots of these extremist organizations.
