Billionaire Elon Musk took control of the social networking platform, Twitter and after a mass firing, the site's cybersecurity chief announced their departure from the business.
Damien Kieran, Marianne Fogarty, and Lea Kissner have all resigned as chief privacy officers and chief information security officers, respectively.
According to the article, the company's engineers would now be in charge of assuring compliance with rules.
Lea Kissner, Twitter's former chief information security officer, tweeted on Thursday, "I've made the hard decision to leave Twitter," adding, "I've had the opportunity to work with amazing people and I'm very proud of the privacy, security, and IT teams and the work we've done."
I've made the hard decision to leave Twitter. I've had the opportunity to work with amazing people and I'm so proud of the privacy, security, and IT teams and the work we've done.
I'm looking forward to figuring out what's next, starting with my reviews for @USENIXSecurity ?— Lea Kissner (@LeaKissner) November 10, 2022
The departures will surely have a significant impact on Twitter's security and privacy teams.
Twitter users applauded Kissner for their work on Twitter's security after they announced their resignation.
“I’m always here to help," Kissner replied.
“I just have to go do it somewhere else, unfortunately."
Elon Musk, the newly appointed owner of Twitter Inc., sent his employees their first email late on Wednesday to warn them of "tough times ahead."
With the exception of any exceptions he would personally accept, Elon Musk stated that remote work will no longer be permitted and that staff will be required to spend a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office.
