On Friday, a social media giant, Twitter, flagged US President Donald Trump's tweet, describing the tweet as 'glorifying violence'.
Twitter also added that though the tweet violated the rules of the platform, it would be not be taken down for the benefit of "the public."
“These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen," Trump tweeted
“Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts."
Flagging it as a violation of Twitter's rule, Twitter said, regarding the tweet, “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest in the Tweet to remain accessible."

This comes after Trump tweeted about the controversial mail-in-voting, with Twitter slamming it with a fact-check notice, which led to the president signing an executive order limiting the powers of social media, although the order has been criticised by many, calling it a violation of Section 230.
