Twitter Rolls Out Communities Features To Android Users

Social media giant, Twitter has announced that Android users can now engage in Communities via the Twitter app as long as they have updated to the latest version.

The new feature was introduced to Android four months after it launched on iOS and on the web. It is also designed to make it easier to connect with other users based on shared interests.

Users will be able to join social hubs and tweet directly to other people with shared interests rather than their regular group of followers. Although those tweets are public, replies are limited to other community members.

Twitter notes that the feature has continued to grow since its launch, with new Communities launching every week and thousands of people participating in a variety of topics, including Roblox, Xbox Community, Tech Twitter, Fashion, R&B Twitter and Formula 1.

Twitter also said that it is working on new ways for moderators to highlight notable content in the communities and exploring a "request to join" option where admins and moderators can approve or deny requests and have Q&As with one another.
