Elon Musk has stated that if account impersonators are not clearly labelled as parodies, Twitter will permanently suspend them.
Following multiple verified "blue-check" individuals changing their accounts to an impersonal Musk, the action was taken.
Elon Musk declared his opposition to lifelong suspensions of users before purchasing Twitter and pledged to let banned users like Donald Trump reappear.
After using Musk's name and image in her own verified Twitter account, Twitter appears to have now temporarily banned comedian Kathy Griffin for impersonating him.
Jeph Jacques and other verified identities that impersonate Musk also seem to have been banned from the website.
Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying “parody” will be permanently suspended

Twitter's rules already stated that users "may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organisations in order to mislead, confuse, or deceive others, nor employ a fake identity in a way that disrupts users' experience on Twitter" prior to Musk's takeover.
Parody accounts had to specify that in their profiles and bios. Profile moderation, a temporary suspension, or even a permanent suspension—though the latter was rarely used—could be the consequences.
The past several days have been filled with drama on Twitter.
Racists and trolls filled the site with slurs and other hate speech early on in Musk's leadership, probably to test the site's new restrictions.
Spending on the website was halted this week by a deluge of advertisers.
Musk tweeted, "A thermonuclear name & shame is exactly what will happen if this continues," in response to a user who recommended a boycott of certain businesses.
Thank you.
