Twitter’s New Update Will Hide Events From Blocked Or Mute

Twitter has revealed that it is working on a privacy update to hide events from accounts that are muted or blocked from appearing in the explore tab.

The update is expected to hide events from muted or blocked Twitter accounts in the Explore tab or the What's Happening sidebar on the web, and the iOS and Android apps and emails from the platform or events-based notifications.

"First up, Events. Now across Android, iOS, and web, Events from accounts you’ve blocked or muted won’t appear in your Explore tab, “What’s happening” sidebar and emails, or Event-based notifications."

This is expected to give users more control over what they choose to see on the platform, by being extra assured that information from accounts they have blocked and muted would not pop up on their timeline.

In October, Twitter rolled out other features that reportedly include the option to archive old tweets for a given period of time (like 30, 60, or 90 days or a full year) so they’re not visible to other users.
