Two Arrested In Osun For Killing Motorcyclist

The Osun State Police Command has paraded two men, Aworinde Wale and Olayemi Abiodun, who were arrested for allegedly killing a motorcyclist, Ojo Adeyeye in Osogbo, Osun State.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Wale Olokode, while parading the suspects told journalists that the suspects had robbed Adeyeye at Oke-Osun area, shot him dead, and stole his Bajaj motorcycle.

According to him, “The two-man gang of armed robbers who specialized in robbing motorcyclists within Osogbo and its environs, dispossessed Ojo Adeyeye of his Bajaj motorcycle at Oke Osun area in Osogbo and shot him dead.

"When the case was reported to the police, a team from the Prompt Response Unit (PRU) of the CP tracked the snatched motorcycle to Saki in Oyo State and recovered it from the second receiver, Ajibade Faruq, who was arrested with the robbed motorcycle."

The Osun police boss added that the suspects had sold the motorcycle to Akeem for the sum of N80,000 and Akeem too sold it to Faruk.

The Commissioner said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is completed.

Faruq in his confession said he bought the motorcycle from the first receiver, one Akeem, for N140,000 in Ibadan.

The principal suspect, Aworinde however confessed to the crime.
