 Two arrested in Sokoto market attack, confess to crime

Sokoto State Police have apprehended two suspects linked to an assault on a village market in Kiri, Gada Local Government Area, resulting in six fatalities.

The police spokesperson in the state, ASP Ahmad Rufai disclosed this on Sunday. According to him, some suspected bandits had attacked the market. 

The spokesperson said the suspects were arrested with some exhibits including three cows and a Dane gun. 

He said the suspects who are from Sabon Garin Dole in the Goronyo Local Government Area of the state have all confessed to committing the crime.

Recall that the state police command had confirmed the killing of six persons in a clash between suspected bandits and vigilantes, locally known as Yan Sakai in Gada LG.
