Enugu state has announced that two children tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
This report comes after the NCDC confirmed 220 new cases of COVID19 yesterday May, 2nd 2020.
The Commissioner for Health in the state, Obi Ikechukwu, who confirmed this said Enugu recorded 4 cases, out of which were two children and two adults who live in Enugu and hail from Bauchi State in the north-east region of the country.
Ikechukwu reported that the four new cases had a travel history to and from Jos, the Plateau State capital.
He noted that the state now has a total of eight COVID-19 infections, with six cases active, two persons discharged and no death recorded.
The commissioner, however, urged the residents of the state to continue to observe the safety measures put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Enugu.
