Two Dead As Pakistani Troops Raids Afghan Border

A raid on a militant hideout on Friday near the Afghanistan border saw two insurgents killed in a shootout.

The troops on Friday also recovered a cache of weapons in the militant hideout in North Waziristan, a district of the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The militants killed during the raid had been involved in past attacks on security forces, the military added.

This comes days after a suicide bomber attacked a mosque on the compound of police in Peshawar, killing 101 people.

Authorities say the bomber wore a police uniform and the guards at the site assumed he was a police officer and did not search him.
