Two Dead, Five Injured In High School Graduation Shooting In

A 19-year-old man armed with four handguns opened fire into a crowd after a high school graduation ceremony in Richmond, Virginia, resulting in the death of two individuals and the injury of five others.

The incident occurred near a theatre adjacent to the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University, reports claimed on Wednesday.

The suspect was apprehended by the police, and Interim Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards announced that the suspect would likely face charges of two counts of second-degree murder along with other offences.

The suspect's motive appeared to be a personal dispute with one person, making the attack seem "disgusting and cowardly" according to Edwards.

Among the wounded, a 31-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries, while four other males aged 14, 32, 55, and 58 were expected to survive.

In addition to the gunshot victims, a nine-year-old girl was struck by a car during the chaotic scene.

Several other individuals also suffered injuries from falls or experienced anxiety due to the incident.
