Two Declared Dead, Many Injured In Ogun Multiple Road Crash

Two passengers have been confirmed dead while ten escaped with varying degrees of injuries after a fatal road crash occurred at Akankan Village on the Odeda-Abeokuta-Ibadan highway on Wednesday.

According to the spokesperson of the Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Florence Okpe, the accident involved three vehicles, a wine coloured Sprinter bus with registration number LSD937HE, a blue Ford bus with registration number AKM801ZW and a runaway truck.

She also stated that eyewitnesses at the scene disclosed that the cause of the multiple road crash was reckless driving on the path of the runaway truck driver, which led to a head-on collision with the two buses.

Okpe stated that the ten injured victims were immediately rushed to the General Hospital, Odeda for medical attention.

She also stated that the corpse of the deceased was also transferred to the morgue of the General Hospital, Odeda.

As of the time of filing this report,  buses involved in the accident have been cleared from the road.
