The European Union funded scholarship is for Third Country students who have applied and have been accepted by the Euroculture Master Course.

Winners, who were selected last week, have the opportunity to study in universities in any of the three European countries; France, Spain and Belgium.

The student grant covers the participation costs, a monthly allowance for living costs and a contribution to travel and installation costs.

Messrs Sodiq and Olanrewaju, who have bagged numerous awards as undergraduates will pursue a Masters degree in Soils and
global change.

While speaking with allnews, Mr Sodiq expressed his happiness being amongst the 22 students selected globally.

“I doubted myself because of the challenging stages, the test, the interview, and all. And coupled with the fact that I was to compete
with medical students from around the world."

He, however, admonished the undergraduate students to be well committed and not be deterred by rejection messages.

“They should be proactive and look out for opportunities. Winning any scholarship requires a lot of commitment and dedication. They shouldn’t get discouraged because of rejections. I have been rejected in more than 10 scholarships before I eventually got this," He said.

On the other hand, Mr Olarewaju, a first class graduate of Agricultural Science implored students to choose mentors and relate with friends who share the same goals and objectives.

“Try all your best to relate with lecturers, as they will be the one to write a recommendation letter for you which will go a long way in
describing your character to the scholarship committee." he advised.
