Two Police Officers Missing After Boat Capsizes In Kenya

A Maritime Police boat on routine surveillance in Kenya.

Two police officers and a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) official have gone missing after the boat they were travelling in capsized in Lake Victoria, Kenya on Friday.

According to police, the missing police were part of a team of eight officers from the Regular Police, Marine Police, and Administration Police who were conducting a joint operation in Lake Victoria off the coast of Mugabo beach.

The event occurred around noon, according to the police, and five people were rescued as a result of it.

"Efforts to rescue the missing officers are underway," according to a police report.

"Three AK 47 rifles with 30 rounds of ammunition each are also missing due to the incident," police said.
