Two Suspects Arrested For Defiling Four Minors In Anambra

Two suspects have been arrested by men of the Anambra State Police Command for defiling four minors who were left in their care.

The suspects, Peter Ezeala and Elochukwu Igwilo were arrested following a report to the command.

In a statement on Monday, the command’s spokesperson, Ikenga Tochukwu said the ugly incident took place at Umudimi, Nnewi North local government area of Anambra State.

Ikenga said: “Information reveals that the mother of the victims; a trader, always leave the children under the care of the suspectswheneverr she wants to go for her business.

“However, this becomes an opportunity for the suspects to take advantage of these kids. The age of these children is 10years, 7years, 5years and 11months respectively.”

Meanwhile, the case has been charged to court and the suspects were remanded in the correctional services centre, as the case was adjourned to June 1st, 2022.

In his reaction to the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng “admonished parents/guardians to be careful of who they leave the custody of their children/wards.”
