Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso says he is confident that his side will get their first win against hosts Egypt at the 2023 U-20 AFCON.
This is coming after Nigeria's male U-20 team started the competition with a defeat.
The Eagles lost 1-0 to the young Teranga Lions of Senegal at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday.
Souleymane Faye scored the only goal for Senegal in the first half as Bosso's men finished the game with 10 men after Ahmed Abdullahi was sent off for a nasty challenge late on.
Addressing a news conference, the gaffer began by saying, "The next match is very difficult, especially since it will be against Egypt, the host country.
“Egypt’s draw against Mozambique will make it more difficult because their desire to win will multiply.”
Commenting further, he added: "We take advantage of tournaments like this in order to develop our level and work to fix our mistakes.
"In the end, I trust the team and their ability to qualify for the next round, and that we will achieve our biggest goal, which is to reach the World Cup.”
Nigeria who is drawn in Group A of the competition will face Egypt on Wednesday, February 22.
