The Flying Eagles arrived in Nigeria on Monday morning with their bronze medal picked up at the just concluded Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ladan Bosso's side achieved a podium finish having hammered Tunisia 4-0 in the tournament third-place match, making it the third time that the Flying Eagles went on to win a bronze medal in the competition.
The WAFU-B champions also secured a ticket to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Indonesia to represent Africa.
In addition, the seven-time African champions clinched the 2023 TotalEnergies U-20 AFCON Fair Play Award because they showed professionalism, dedication, passion and discipline during the 23rd edition of the tournament, while two Flying Eagles players Solomon Agbalaka and Augustine Njoku were selected in the tournament’s best X1.
They are now expected to take a break before commencing preparations for the World Cup which is billed to kick off in May.
