Nigeria's Flying Eagles thrashed local side Deluxe Football Club 6-0 in a friendly game in Abuja on Friday morning.

The game was played as part of preparations for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt from February 19 to March 11.

Ladan Bosso's men failed to break the deadlock in the first half despite creating goalscoring opportunities.

However, the Flying Eagles skipper Ibrahim Yahaya opened the scoring for his team two minutes after the break.

The seven-time champions then doubled their lead in the 50th-minute courtesy of a goal from forward Haliru Seriki.

Adams Olamilekan of Remo Stars added the third goal three minutes before the hour mark to take the game beyond the reach of Deluxe Football Club.

The remaining goals were scored by Seriki who got his brace and Emmanuel Ochegbu who netted the fifth as well as sixth goals.

Bosso's side will now focus on their upcoming friendlies against Zambia before their training tour in Morocco.

The friendlies have been slated to hold at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on February 3 and 6.
