U-20 AFCON: I Was Offered N88 Million Bribe By Agents - Bosso

U-20 AFCON: I Was Offered N88 Million Bribe By Agents - Boss

A shocking revelation has been made by Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso that he was offered N88 million in bribe from football agents.

According to him, the gratification offered by football agents was to make them "sole right owners" of selected players who will represent Nigeria at U-20 AFCON in Egypt.

Bosso revealed that football agents from far and wide started approaching him ever since the Flying Eagles officially opened camp.

“Since we opened camp, a lot of football agents have been making overtures to me," he disclosed in a recent exclusive interview.

“In fact, just recently, some European football agents approached me and offered me 100,000 Euros (about 88 million Naira) that they’ll be sole rights owners of all the players in the Nigerian U-20 team should they get any offer from clubs during the championship in Egypt."

The Flying Eagles coach however noted that he rejected N88 million in bribe from football agents on the basis that his team selection is based on merit.

He stressed that he wants to be held responsible if the Flying Eagles fail to excel at the U-20 AFCON.

“Of course, I turned down the offer, because my team selection is based on merit," Bosso said.

“Our preparation is a continuous process of substitution by elimination.

"I want to be held responsible, should the team fails, which I am not praying for to happen.

“I don’t delegate my duties to my assistant coaches. I am always involved in the team’s build-up and preparations for the championship.”

Bosso's side are preparing to face Senegal in their opening game in the competition on February 19 at the Cairo International Stadium.

The seven-time champions began the second phase of their preparation on Monday, January 9 in Abuja.

They are also expected to embark on a training tour in Morocco to camp at the end of this month.
