Premier League goalkeeper, Owen Goodman of Crystal Palace has declined an invitation to join the Flying Eagles ahead of the U-20 AFCON.
Goodman said the reason he didn't accept the invitation to join Ladan Bosso's men is that the invitation arrived late.
Earlier, the Flying Eagles head coach Bosso had extended an invitation to the Crystal Palace goalie and also to Arsenal shot-stopper Ovie Ejeheri.
PUNCH reported that a source close to the Goodman said, “The goalkeeper will not be honouring the invitation because it came late."
The anonymous source added: "He is already with the England team but he was actually ready to play for Nigeria.
"He, however, looks forward to honouring future invitations whenever he is called upon.”
Goodman, who came through Crystal Palace academy, recently signed a professional contract with the London Club.
He qualified to play for Nigeria because of his Nigerian mother but is also eligible to represent both Canada and England.
