U-20 World Cup: CAF Congratulates Flying Eagles On Beating A

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated the Flying Eagles for knocking out hosts Argentina at the FIFA U-20 World Cup on Wednesday.

The Eagles won the game 2-0 despite being written off before the match.

Ibrahim Muhammad and Rilwanu Haliru Sarki scored the goals to end a run of 10 straight U-20 World Cup victories for six-time champions Argentina.

"Knockout hosts. On to the quarters,” CAF wrote on Twitter.

“It’s an African party in South America! ? NAIJA FEVER! ??.”

The Flying Eagles will next play the winner between Korea Republic and Ecuador in the quarter-finals on Sunday.

They last made it to the quarter-finals of the U-20 World Cup at the 2011 edition in Colombia.
