Ubisoft has officially announced that the next entry in its long-running series is Assassin's Creed Mirage.
At the Ubisoft Forward event on September 10, further information is anticipated to be released.
Following an earlier leak of the game's artwork, the publisher on Thursday revealed the title, along with its star and setting, in a tweet.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is the next Assassin's Creed game.

It shows Basim Ibn Ishaq from the most current Assassin's Creed game, Valhalla, leaping with a concealed sword in front of Baghdad's Palace of the Golden Gate (via Polygon).
In the image released, the Assassin's Creed Valhalla game's main assassin, Basim, was seen leaping through an archway with Baghdad's Palace of the Golden Gate in the background.
In the late 9th century, during the Abbasid Caliphate, which is when Mirage is set, that landmark was the caliphal palace.
Prior rumours and leaks suggested that Basim, a beloved fan character (who, according to the Valhalla canon, is a reincarnation of the Norse deity Loki), would serve as the game's main protagonist.
According to reports, Assassin's Creed Mirage will focus on stealth gameplay and revert to the Middle Eastern setting of the first Assassin's Creed.
Mirage, also known by the codename Rift, was originally intended to be an expansion for Valhalla but was forced into duty on Ubisoft's publishing calendar as a standalone project to fill out a comparatively sparse period for new releases.
The new game was initially supposed to be downloadable content for Valhalla, but according to Bloomberg, it was later changed to become a stand-alone experience to accommodate Ubisoft's release timetable.
