UCL: Barcelona Thrash Ferencvarosi 5-1, Chelsea Held Sevilla To A Draw

UCL: Barcelona Thrash Ferencvarosi 5-1, Chelsea Held Sevilla

Barcelona thrashed Ferencvarosi 5-1 at the Camp Nou to shake off the 8-2 humiliation last season while Chelsea held Europa League winners, Sevilla to a draw at Stamford Bridge.

AllNews understands that Barcelona is the first team to have two goal scorers aged 17 or under in a single UEFA Champions League match.

Lionel Messi has now scored in 16 consecutive Champions League seasons dating back as far back as the 2005-06 season.

The Blaugrana was better off than last season and seem to want to show the world as they ran riot with Ferencvarosi in a 6 goal thriller which saw Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati, Coutinho, Pedri, and Dembele all get on the scoring sheet.

Dembele was even more fluid, he came on a substitute in for Trincao in the 63rd minute and was involved in 2 goals before the final whistle running and displacing the already tired Ferencvarosi defenders.

Barcelona No. 10 opened up the scoring with a penalty in the 27th minute, Dibusz guessed right but could not get his hands on the ball.

The goal has taken his UEFA Champions League victims to a record 36, different teams from different countries.

The second goal came from Frenkie De Jong, he sent an overhead pass to find Ansu Fati in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, which he tucked home

The third goal was by Coutinho in the second half, after Messi brought the ball into the box, dropped it for Fati, with a drop of skill, the 18-year old passed it to Coutinho, who fired it into the net in a low fashion.

Barcelona was reduced to 10 men when Pique tried to prevent a one-on-one situation, ended up pulling the Nguen in the box.

Kharatin took the penalty for Fevencvarosi and he finished Neto off, he sent the Brazilian the wrong way.

Dembele was the architect of the two remaining goals with his pace he ran at the defense in a counter-attack from a quick play dropped a cut back fro Pedri from the wing and Pedri finished off the ball to make it 4-1 on the night.

The Frenchman finally got on the scoresheet himself as Lionel Messi picked him out Dembele after drawing all the defenders toward himself, the former Dortmund man tucked the ball into the net.

The Catalans topped Group G ahead of Juventus with goal difference.

Chelsea vs Sevilla

There is not much about the game with neither side really pressed for a win and Group E has no leader with all 4 teams played out draws.

Frank Lampard was satisfied with the performance especially against one of Europe's elite teams, Sevilla and Lampard said the result tonight was a positive one.

He believes both teams slightly worked each other out as the contest progressed, which made it an interesting game from a tactical perspective.

Heaping praise on Club's new signing, Edouard Mendy, he said, "Mendy has played very well in his three games so far, and at the moment he is the number one choice between the posts, but that can always change depending on the form."
