UCL: Coman Haunts PSG As Bayern Move Closer To Quarterfinals

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich took a step closer to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League with a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their last 16 tie on Tuesday.

French winger Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game, with a cross from Alphonso Davies that he buried past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 53rd minute.

Coman had previously been the hero of the 2020-21 Champions League final against PSG, scoring the only goal in the match.

His goal on Tuesday proved to be the difference once again, as PSG were unable to find the back of the net despite the introduction of star striker Kylian Mbappe in the 53rd minute.

PSG's coach for the match was Christophe Galtier, who made several tactical changes throughout the game to try and break down the Bayern Munich defence.

In the closing stages of the match, Bayern Munich's Benjamin Pavard was issued a red card in the 92nd minute with a cynical challenge on PSG's Lionel Messi. Despite being reduced to 10 men, Bayern held on to secure the 1-0 victory.

The second leg of the tie will take place on March 8th at the Allianz Arena in Munich. PSG will be hoping to overturn the deficit and progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, while Bayern Munich will be looking to hold on to their lead and secure a spot in the next round of the competition.
