UCL: Liverpool Thrashed Atalanta 5-0 As Jota Scores Hattrick

Liverpool was superb against Atalanta in Italy as the Reds scored 5 goals and new signing Diogo Jota got his first UEFA Champions League hattrick to complete Jurgen Klopp's side 5th goal.

AllNews understands that Diogo Jota has forced his way into Liverpool's trident of Firmino, Salah, Mane as the Portuguese have scored in 4 consecutive games for Liverpool in all competition.

Diogo Jota's goal was the second hattrick on matchday 3 as Alassane Plea scored a hattrick for Borussia Monchengladbach earlier in the day.

He opened up the Atalanta defense in the 16th minutes as Alexandre Arnold through ball found him through on goal, beat his marker, and lofted the ball past outrushing Sportiello.

Diogo Jota completed a superb finish for the second goal as Joe Gomez found him with a pass, controlled it with his left foot, and slabbed a volley into the bottom left corner to make it 2-0.

The third goal by Salah was a classic Salah goal as the Egyptian ran over 30-yards of space after a corner kick brought out Atalanta defense in search of a goal, he turned his marker, found space, and roofed the ball into the left top corner.

Salah provided Mane the fourth goal after stealing a loose ball and passed it through to Sadio Mane and with another lob finished off Sportiello in style.

It seems Jurgen Klopp is satisfied with 4 goals but the Reds were ready to thrill their boss against a weakened opponent as Jota connected with Mane to make it 5 and complete his hattrick.

A low ball from Mane to Jota, he dribbled past the outrushing keeper and finished off the ball into the empty net.

Liverpool stays comfortably at the top of Group D table with 9 points from available 9 and Atalanta might have lost their chance of securing a qualification as they are leveled with Ajax who won against Midtjylland.
