UCL: Real Madrid secure decisive draw against Bayern

Second leg holds on Wednesday next week

Real Madrid squeezed out a crucial 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena against fellow European superhouse, Bayern Munich in the first leg clash of the semifinals meetings on Tuesday night, reports Allnews.ng.

Bayern Munich enjoyed much of the possession in the opening stages of the game while Madrid seemingly relied on counter attacks to cause damage.

Bayern's Leroy Sane were presented with some good chances to put the first leg probably out of the reach of Los Bloncos but was wasteful in front of goal.

Real punished the profligacy when Toni Kross slid the ball into space for the onrushing Vinicious to place the ball underneath the feet of Manuel Neuer.

Harry Kane went close to getting a second goal for the Bavarians with a vicious freekick that flew past target for a goal kick.

Bayern then scored through the hitherto average Leroy Sane courtesy of a solo run ad a powerful shot from outside the Real Madrid area.

Bayern's Nigerian-born Germany international Jamal Musiala was brought down by Lucas Vázquez inside the penalty box and Kane sent Andriy Lunin the wrong way to put the home side ahead.

However Brailian forward Vinicius ensured parity for the Spaniards in the 83rd minute when he stepped up to convert the second penalty of the match after his countryman, Rodrygo was brought down in the area.

The draw means that Real Madrid equaled a new record as they went 11 games unbeaten this season in the competition.
