UCL Round-Of-Sixteen: Man City, Lyon Grab Stunning Victories

Manchester City completed an enthralling comeback at the Santiago Bernabeu to stun Real Madrid with a Gabriel Jesus header and Kevin De Bruyne penalty sealing a 2-1 victory for the English team in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Manchester City were the better side for much of the match with Pep Guardiola unleashing an usual tactic which saw Kevin De Bruyne see less of the ball, with City content with sitting and soaking the pressure. However, with an Isco strike looking likely to condemn the citizens to defeat, Manchester City roared back.

De Bruyne led the fightback, laying the cross from which Gabriel Jesus headed home an equaliser before getting a goal for himself from the penalty spot after Dani Carvajal had brought down Raheem Sterling. With Ramos seeing a late red, Madrid have a huge mountain to climb ahead of the second leg.

Meanwhile, Lyon took a big step in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash against Juventus as Lucas Tousart scored the only goal to secure a slender 1-0 win over the reigning Italians Champions.

Maurizio Sarri's side were depressing poor in the first half of the match, failing to play a single shot on target, and deservedly fell behind in the 31st minute when Tousart found the net for the first time in the Champions League this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo did his best to bail his team out - as he was acquired to do - and the Portuguese superstar shot narrowly wide in the opening stage, while Paulo Dybala had a goal ruled out for offside three minutes from time. A late Juventus barrage was not enough as the Old Lady fell to their fourth defeat of the season.
