Barcelona head coach, Ronaldo Koeman has left Lionel Messi and Frenkie De Jong out of Barcelona's squad to travel to face Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday after winning their first 3 matches of the UCL fixtures.
AllNews understands that De Jong and Messi have played almost all matches since the start of the season - with 9 points from available 9, Koeman felt it time to give them a rest.
Barcelona will look to get back to winning after the loss against Atletico Madrid, the very first for Diego Simeone and the Rojiblancos since 2010.
The former Dutch manager, in his pre-match, said that with the recent injury to Pique and Roberto it was time to rest the player.
"We have decided we won't not be taking Leo or Frenkie because the situation in the Champions League is something quite comfortable with the 9 points we have got".
"These two players need to rest because they have played a lot of matches", Koeman added.
The next game for Barcelona after the Dynamo's match is against Osasuna at the Camp Nou as the Blaugrana will look to get back to the other half of the table while sitting at 12th position on the La Liga table.
