UEFA Champions League: Ronaldo-Led Juventus Faces Memphis Depay's Lyon

UEFA Champions League: Ronaldo-Led Juventus Faces Memphis De

Juventus hosts Lyon on Friday night, with the French side leading 1-0 at the halfway point. The Champions League last-16 second legs are finally taking place, more than four months after the first 90 minutes were played out.

Cristiano Ronaldo and a host of other Juve stars were rested on the final week of the season after Maurizio Sarri’s side had wrapped up another Serie A title.

For Lyon, Memphis Depay’s return from injury is a big boost as they failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League after the domestic season ended early and lost a cup final to PSG.

When is it and what time is kick-off?

The match will begin at 8 pm BST on Friday 7 August at Allianz Stadium.

How can I watch it online and on TV?

The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2 and BT Sport Extra 2.

Juventus are without injured Douglas Costa, while Paulo Dybala is a doubt. If he’s fit, he’ll come through in such a key game. Mattia De Sciglio is also injured.

Captain statement:

Leonardo Bonucci, Juventus defender: "All of us, with a word, a gesture, an injection of positive energy, can determine how the game unfolds. The focus is on this game, and on the desire to overturn the result; we must only look at ourselves."

Coach statement:

"We are happy to have won possibly the most difficult Serie A in history. Now it would be great to go to Portugal and play the final eight as it would mean entering the world's elite."

Sarri on Cristiano Ronaldo: "[He] is training in the right manner, yesterday he scored an excellent goal in training. He played many games in a short time, he rested a little and now he has trained with intensity and strength."

He adds, “Lyon defends with intensity and efficiency, and counter-attack really well. The result of the first-leg allows them to set the game according to their characteristics. It will be a very difficult game, but not an impossible one.

"Playing without fans, even tomorrow, will not be pleasant. The most important competition in the world, the Champions League, would need it even more. Let's hope that the right conditions will soon be in place in order for fans to return

On Juan Cuadrado: "He will most likely start from the first minute, let's see whether it is from the defensive line or in a more attacking position."

Where they finished: 7th in Ligue 1, League Cup runners-up

Lyon welcomed back Memphis Depay to action in their cup final loss at the weekend, but Kenny Tete is unlikely to play and Marcelo is a doubt.

Memphis Depay, Lyon forward: "I'm very happy to be back in the team. We will do everything we can to reproduce the performance from the first leg. We have a very good squad and we should not doubt our talent."

He adds, "I was injured for a long time. I tried to get my rhythm back during our warm-up games. It will be a special game tomorrow and we will give everything to qualify."

Coach statement:

Rudi Garcia, Lyon coach: "Tomorrow's game will be completely different from last Friday. We're very happy to be playing in this match and very motivated to reach the quarter-finals. Juventus have a lot of great players. We come here with a lot of humility, but also a lot of ambition."

He adds, "We quickly digested the [League Cup final] defeat against PSG, and moved our focus to this game. Bruno Guimarães is a good player. He hasn't been with us long but he's already given us a lot."
