UEFA Champions League Semifinals: Real Madrid vs Man City, Liverpool vs Villarreal

The draw for the UEFA Champions League semifinal for the 2021-22 season will feature two Spanish and two English teams as they try to either keep the club in England or take it back to Spain.

The argument about the superiority between La Liga and EPL have always been another interesting mix to football and this year will give yet another opportunity for such engagement.

Real Madrid and Villarreal will represent Spain against English top clubs -- Man City and Liverpool.

There is a very high chance that we would likely have another all English final like last season between Chelsea and Man City but Villarreal and Madrid have shown that they can pull comebacks or giant-killing performances.

Anyone that we get would be a beautiful watch for neutrals and a headache for the fans.

BENZEMA TO SURPASS LEWANDOWSKI

Karim Benzema, Real Madrid skipper is currently behind Robert Lewandowski with just a goal to surpass him as the competition's top scorer for this season.

At the start of January, Sebastien Haller seemed to be in pole position to beat the Polish striker to the award but a defeat to Benfica thwarted such charge for the Ivorian striker.

Now two hattricks against Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have shot Benzema up the ladder to just one goal behind Lewy.

He would have been levelled with him on 12 goals but Lewandowski managed to score against Villarreal despite Bayern Munich crashing out of the Champions League quarterfinals.

Benzema seemed to have caught a knock against Chelsea as he leapt off the field at Bernabeu but the semifinal is not until April 26th 2022.
