Following his impressive win over Gilbert Burns over the weekend, Kamaru Usman made history by breaking the record for the most consecutive welterweight wins in the UFC — he now has 13 straight victories. The record was formerly held by Georges St-Pierre who had 12 straight victories.
While speaking recently with TMZ Sports, the Nigerian nightmare was asked if he would be interested in partaking in Dancing with the Stars, an American dancing series featuring celebrities being paired with professional dancers.
Responding to the question, Usman stated that he was ready to add a mirrorball trophy to his collection of UFC belts.
"I do my thing", he said. "I do my thing! That's the thing with me. I understand that practice makes perfect and I'm disciplined enough to be able to train at it."
"So anything, if I need to work at it, do the moves, learn them, boom! I'm in there! I can get it down."
Born on May 11, 1987, Kamarudeen 'Kamaru' Usman was born in Auchi, Nigeria, and grew up with his mother and two brothers in Benin City.
His father became a pharmacist in the U.S. and brought his family into the country when Usman was just eight years old. The UFC champion is married and has a daughter (born 2014).
